Pucked by Helena Hunting ARC Review Tour

Title: Pucked
Author: Helena Hunting
Publisher: Helena Hunting
Release Date: May 3, 2015

Synopsis:

With a famous NHL player for a step-brother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation many hockey stars come with. She’s smart enough to steer clear of those hot, well-built boys with unparalleled stamina. That is until she meets the legendary team captain—Alex Waters.

Violet isn’t interested in his pretty, beat-up face, or his rock-hard six-pack abs. But when Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet’s previous misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes more than just a hot body with a face to match.

In what can only be considered a complete lapse in judgment, Violet finds out just how good Alex is with the hockey stick in his pants. But what starts out as a one-night stand, quickly turns into something more. Post-night of orgasmic magic, Alex starts to call, and text, and e-mail and send extravagant—and quirky—gifts, making him difficult to ignore, and even more difficult not to like.

The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn’t want to be part of the game.

This is my honest review
Rating: 4 Stars - Loved

I’m writing this review as someone who has read the original version. I read this story a few years back and was happy to hear Helena Hunting would be publishing Pucked. This version is trimmed down, but I’m glad to say that all the fan favorite details and scenes have all remained the same. Let the snarky and smexy, laugh-out moments begin, because y’all need hockey hunk Alex Waters in your life!

Violet Hall’s stepbrother, Buck, has just been traded to the Chicago Hawks. Violet is quite the character! Due to a bad experience, she has rules about dating hockey players, but a sizzling encounter with team captain, Alex Waters, could just change her mind.

“Alex Waters has singlehandedly obliterated my misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players—with one sentence. In doing so, he’s become infinitely hotter than he was five seconds ago.”

Thus, her love affair for the MC begins. Really, I’ll never look at the letters MC the same way again. You’ll have to read Pucked to find out what the letters mean if you already don’t know. Despite her obsession with the MC, Violet still has issues, and Alex is determined to change her mind.

I loved reading this story before, and I still found myself giggle-snorting all throughout this time around. Read this if you’re looking for a sports romance that is erotic, highly explicit, naughty, and hilarious featuring a very hot hockey player!

“Why does he have to look so good? I’m so pucked.”

Yes, Violet, you are!
